Our Philosophy

Here at BioCult Labs, we understand that gut health plays a major part in a person’s overall health. Bieng responsible for both nutrition and illness, it is important to take care of your gut.

This is why we have coupled scientific breakthroughs in nutrients with age old methods of preservation to create products that maximize human health and longevity.

The Science

Probiotics/Prebiotics

Believe it or not, there are Millions of tiny bacteria living in your gut, BUT some of them help you in amazing ways!

Fermentation

So much more than just an ancient preservation method. Find out how we have grown with these foods and techniques.

Broccoli Sprouts/Microgreens

The baby version of a plant that is packed full of up to 50x the nutrients of a mature plant, offering life changing benefits!

Sulforaphane

From preventing Cancer to exterminating bad bacteria, this nutrient is proving to do it all! From NASA to John’s Hopkins University, see what all the top researchers are investigating.

Probiotics & Prebiotics

This may sound bizarre, but there are millions upon millions of microscopic bacteria living inside your gut at all times. There is no need to panic however, most of them are there to help!

Let’s start by defining your gut, what do we mean by that? Your gut is not just your stomach, in fact its a combinations of many organs and systems working together to help you digest food. So your gut is made of your stomach yes, but also your small and large intestinal tracts, as they play a major role in gathering the nutrients from the food you eat as it passes through. Your mouth and esophagus are also considered part of your gut because they too aid in digestion.

So your gut is where these bacteria live, and we can refer to that as your microbiome, but what are they doing in there? The short answer is they are trying to stay alive and found that inside you is a good place to do that, BUT as a result, a beautiful symbiotic relationship was formed through millions of years of evolution. The bacteria that instead of harming us actually helped us, found it was much easier to survive when you help the organism you are living in to survive as well, like taking care of your house. The good guys found a home in our gut and as a byproduct of them doing the normal things they do to stay alive, like eating, we get some really great benefits. The chemicals they produce help us to break down and gather more nutrients from our food than we could before. These chemicals also help us to produce key chemicals for our mood like dopamine and seratonin.

Overwhelming evidence is mounting to suggest that a person’s overall health is without a doubt linked to the health of their microbiome. The above video outlines a few specific bacteria to include in your microbiome. The term ProBiotic refers to the bacteria themselves. The term PreBiotic refers to the foods you can eat that these bacteria like. This can help them repopulate as well as produce different and better nutrients.

Fermentation

Fermentation is a natural process, one that will happen regardless of Human intervention. What happens is, microorganisms like yeast and bacteria break down sugars and starches into acids, alcohol, and gasses. The results are enzymes sometimes reffered to as postbiotics, which aid in both nutrition and food preservation. For example yeast converts sugar into ethanol (alcohol) and carbon dioxide, which is used to make beer and wine.Foods that are already in our diet like yogurt and saurkraut use the fermentation process.

Almost every ancient culture around the world has incorporated fermented foods in some way. They discovered it most likely by accident, while storing their extra food. Eventually, they would find that some foods could still be eaten, even after they looked rotten. Those foods would have been important to those people because its a reliable source of nutrition all year, with no refrigeration.Over tens of thousands of years, regardless of where you come from, our bodies have evolved in a symbiosis with the bacteria in fermented foods. Working together to produce the healthiest versions of each other, as that would benefit all parties involved.

Fermented foods not only add more good bacteria to your gut, but it also acts as food for the existing bacteria that is already there. These good bacteria then go on to help regulate your mood and produce chemicals like dopamine and serotonin to make you feel even better.

You don’t just FEEL better, you ARE better. Up to 70% of immune cells reside in your gut!

Broccoli Sprouts/Microgreens

Microgreens are the baby version of a plant, several days after sprouting. Broccoli is known to be one of the best plants to use for microgreens and sprouts. The greens offer a condensed form of what the plant will eventually mature into. Like taking all the nutrients from a full grown broccoli plant and packing it into one bite.

A microgreen is harvested by cutting the plant at the stem, just above the soil level. They will usually grow more straight up and down, thus when you see them on your plate they are long stringy plant fibers.

Sprouts are slightly different, they are still derived from the same plant as the microgreens, but there are a few key differences. Sprouts are usually not grown in soil, instead their roots end up using each other as a way to stabilize and draw water from the environment. As a result, the entire plant is harvested and used for consumption, roots and all. They are usually harvested a few days earlier than the microgreens, and also typically higher in key vitamins, minerals, and nutrients. The most important one to us being SULFORAPHANE. The wonder nutrient.

Sulforaphane is the nutrient that is produced when an enzyme reaction happens within the broccoli plant. A chemical called glucoraphanin reacts with myrosinase when the cell walls of the plant are damaged. This happens during chewing or grinding of the plant.

Sulforaphane is responsible for a vast amount of health solutions, which you can find out more about HERE. Evidence of CANCER REDUCTION and Prevention as well as extreme influence on good gut health are just a few of the many examples.

Sulforaphane

As stated previously, sulforaphane is responsible for a truly unbelievable set of health characteristics, so let’s dive right into it!

Sulforaphane has to be made, it is not like other nutrients which already exist in a set amount within the plant. Instead it is produced as a result of an enzyme reaction between various chemicals.

The plant contains something called Glucoraphanin, when you chew or chop the plant, the cell walls break down and allow this Glucoraphanin to be released. When it comes into contact with another chemical called Myrosinase, commonly found in gut bacteria, the resulting reaction produces Sulforaphane.

Broccoli, and even more so Broccoli Sprouts, contain the highest observed potential for sulforaphane production of any plant on Earth.

The quest was started all the way back in 1992 by John’s Hopkins University scientists, and continues through us to this day. New uses are being found each and every day!

There is legitimate evidence that it helps reduce and prevent CANCER, by activating the Nrf2 pathway, it effectively prevents cell mutation. On the other hand, as recent as 2026 it has been shown to attack existing Cancer cells and trigger Apoptosis (Cell suicide).

Sulforaphane is shown to reduce the H. Pylori bacteria in your gut by up to 40%, this being the leading cause of bacterial infection in the world, mostly responsible for ulcers and gastritis.

It is known to positively affect mood and behavior, by regulating antioxidant defenses, producing more glutathione and glutamate.

Cardiovascular health, it protects the heart by reducing arterial narrowing and lowering blood pressure and oxidative stress.

Proven to filter out carcinogens from pollution like Benzene by up to 60%, drastically improving lung health.

Metabolic and Diabetes support, reduce fasting blood sugar and improve insulin sensitivity in type 2 diabetes.

Protects against Alzheimers and Parkinsons by easily crossing the blood-brain-barrier, reducing neuroinflammation. Has even been shown to help manage the symptoms of Autism.

Protects against skin cancer by supporting collagen synthesis.

We highly encourage you to not just believe us but do the research yourself! We understand that this information may seem too good to be true, as we had thought the same thing. The question you are asking is probably: Why haven’t I heard of this stuff before?! And the answer may be simple… John’s Hopkins University was sued for their Patent on Broccoli Sprouts and in 2001 Honorable Judge William M. Nickerson ruled that the patents were invalid, as no entity can control the process of growing a natural plant, makes sense. So one can only speculate as to why the life saving benefits of Sulforaphane fell silent overnight, but we here at BioCult Labs are dedicated to spreading this gift to the world!
